Here's a quick snap of each tiny Ellenburg Babe...all on the way out of the house yesterday. {Wish I could be this cheesy ever day}
Jackson Yes, he wanted to wear this shirt. I don't really get it, but he loves it.
Grant So serious for a boy who wore a cape to dinner.
Madison It's nice to get her holding still. You've got to have a fast camera to catch Madison.

Madison, a dog lover to some sick extreme, has done a 180 for cats? What's up with that? Every time I see her, she's wearing a cat t-shirt or cat pajamas or is petting one these purring, walking robot cats that apparently only love her.
With the cool weather finally visiting Alabama, my yellow wild flowers are rocking and I thought it would be a great week for some new photos. I invited Madison along. She invited Edwin, one of two Robot cats. Enjoy a few of these fun photos.

This week, we've made some real progress. Half the of the kitchen was completely emptied - floor to ceiling. Mike laid the backer board, I laid the tile...
{I chose a nice Pinot Beige tile and No, I have still not chosen any paint yet} BTW - I'm pretty bad-ass with this tile wet saw, yeah, that's right. Bad Ass.
The Cabinet assembly has started. They are espresso stained oak.
And the Custom kit for the fancy Fridge/Freezer was a pain in the ass. But it does look sweet, and it will be sweeter when I get to turn it on.
Mike says he's hit his head on these lights 45 times. {I lost track of the count after 15} And every time he hits his head, I say "Don't rip them out!" When his head hits 50 - he says he's ripping them {insert cuss words of your choice} out. I hope this handy homemade hideous tie back helps. {Fashioned out of a power cord that Mike may or may not find that he needs}
On a sidebar... the tankless hot water heater died. RIP Titan 2200. American Home Shield sent me a plumber who made my home is first tankless installation {thanks again for that AHS}, which he then dragged out 3 weeks. Remodeling is hard enough without taking away my hot water too.
Since I had to clear out the last of the cabinets, where will all the first aid live? {I had a kitchen drawer devoted to it} I have to bandage someone up daily here. Nurse Daphne lives on from a cardboard box of supplies now. PS - Snoopy band-aids make all wounds instantly better, unless you're Mike.
And on a final sad note: The Keurig had to move into the 1/2 bath. Now it's like I live in a hotel with nicer beds that I have to make myself.
The rest of the kitchen cabinets get evicted tonight, stay tuned.

Wow! This weekend I woke up in beautiful Natchitoches, Louisiana only to find my Architectural Photograph on the spotlight feature of a National Photography Blog. Many Thanks to MCP Actions for selecting my photograph!
This photograph is the skylight from a prayer room in the historic Methodist church in Downtown Mobile, Alabama. See the great photographs selected with us at the MCP Actions Blog.

What a GREAT weekend! I haven't been back to Natchitoches in over 15 years. {This makes me feel a bit old when I'm hitting a 15 year college reunion. But none the less, I headed back over to Louisiana. And, I brought my super duper husband with me to my Sorority Reunion.}
We left Creola, Alabama early. And of course I snapped some shots along the way... Here's the Huey P {the scariest Bridge ever}.
And I found this when I stopped in Ville Platte. You can fill up your car & buy a KATANA SWORD and still pay more for the fill up. When made it to Natchitoches {about 6 hours of driving}, I took Mike around the NSU campus..
It has changed so much! Then... I made him try a famous Natchitoches Meat Pie from Maggios.
Then after checking into our 2 star hotel {which I did take some heat for, but seriously, it's Natchitoches - the best is 2 stars} It was off to Antoon's on the River to see my Sigma Kappa Sisters. It was so great to see my Sig Kap Besties! Wish more could have made the trip.
And later, when we ditched the "fly boys" to hit up the REAL Antoon's I was happy not to find any photos of me on the Famous Antoon's wall. {Dodged another close one there} And I was happy to see the shoe-shine chair still had all its glory.
And for even more fun, this guy is still there. All in All, a great weekend with some great people. I had fun. Mike had fun. I hope it doesn't take 15 more years to do it again :-)
Last week was Architecture week. I'm not naturally drawn to Architectural Photography, but I pass by this red door, almost everyday. And when I pass by, I often think of how great it would be to photograph in front of this door...not so much the door, but it seemed like a great opportunity.
While photographing this door, I met the pastors family and was invited inside for a private tour. {The pastor & his wife were just a delight} I was really WOWed by the amazingly ornate detail inside. Enjoy a few shots of the great things hidden inside Mobile Alabama's historic downtown Methodist Church.
If you get the chance to see the inside of this gorgeous church, I highly recommend it.

Week 40's Vintage theme was a fun time with Grant. Grant is my middle son, and he's always up for adventure. We stepped back into time for this fun shoot. We're not far from our Creola, Alabama Studio on my favorite railroad track. Enjoy these Vintage Photos - he really looks like he stepped right out of time.
Grant is one fun kid!
