This Saturday, we hit the 2 month mark of our Main Floor Remodel. {What? Only 2 months, it seems like a small lifetime} But...In our short 2 months, we have removed the tile flooring in the kitchen, ordered & received new appliances & furniture (all still in happy giant boxes), installed new garage doors, removed & replaced the flooring in our bedroom with hardwood, repainted the Master Bedroom, removed an entire fireplace and...now it's time for the living room.
This weekend there was mild demolition and painting - nearly endless painting...Living room walls & the ceiling twice {Yuck! Because I always manage to get paint in my hair when I do the ceilings. Now when I look in the mirror, I think, "Is that a gray hair, or is that ceiling paint?"} We also removed the carpet & about a million staples and tacks to start the Hardwood floors. But before all that excitement could start, Mike had to lay the groundwork for his seemingly Wireless entertainment system.
It's actually quite impressive. All rewired and moved behind baseboard. Almost magically invisible.
One Anniversary gifted Smart TV mounted and operational, and 3/7 speaker wires ready to go. Not bad. I'm always impressed with Mike's Perfectly Balanced, not to mention cutting edge home improvements. {I picked a winner}
Here's a shot where I spilled the ceiling paint on the plywood flooring. It almost made a heart, for "I love this Remodel!" We're rounding into Month 3 where I hope to see what the heck are in all these boxes everywhere. When I think of Photography vs Nature, it's always Wind hands down. It's always whipping my hair around, my clients hair around and just making my nature a little less sharp than I'd like it to be. For my Man vs. Nature shoot, I thought about flying a kite, but then again bubbles are always more fun.
Here's our feature shot this week, titled: Bubble Boy vs. Wind and Sister - She just popped in out of no where, it made this shot all the more fun. {This shot was taken just before the first Mosquito drew blood, or about 7pm if you're not from the area.}
Bubbles. Who can't smile watching kids play with bubbles? On a windy day, bubbles are a childrens photographer's best friend. I frequently carry a tiny container of Gazillion bubbles with me {they are seriously the best!} Here's a few more from a windy day of fun with Bubbles in Creola, Alabama...Daphne Ellenburg is a budding photography business owner in Southern Alabama with a supportive family and a new fancy-pants in home studio. The first day of Fall should be a momentous occasion, but in Southern Alabama it tends to sneak right past you. It's still too hot and too green to really be fall. But I am always hopeful. I love to celebrate that glorious first day of Fall with a morning walk and plot out the great things I'm looking forward to photographing. I took Madison with me, 2 hats and my favorite camera. It was too warm for a sweater {but I wore one anyway}, but perfect for slowing down and holding hands. Enjoy a few of my favorite girl on the first day of Fall in Creola, Alabama.Daphne Ellenburg is a budding photography business owner in Southern Alabama with a supportive family and a new fancy-pants in home studio. This week found us drowning again surrounded by all things remodel. My room is at a solid 98% complete - I've still got to paint my trim & one door with the gleaming white enamel paint I'm suddenly in love with. Then I will commit to hanging things on the walls. Next stop living room...which is in progress just like the kitchen.
Here's a peek at my super scary, just in time for Halloween, Living room. {I painted that wall yesterday}
Here's the 2 dots Mike requested I not paint over. Yep, new TV measurements take priority over completely painting the wall. {Ladies pick and choose your battles}
Grant left me these crumbs after his Tuesday Breakfast. I love that kid.
Madison has added this cat to her Christmas list. She seems to enjoy robot pets.
Madison is still enjoying Ballet class & I'm enjoying it too.
The boys went nuts for these - they are such nerds. I added it to their Christmas List.
This guy ruined my Monday, by swerving off the road & kicking up rocks that cracked the window of my new car. This guy is on my list.
Caught up on some reading.
Had a nice dinner out with Mike, no kiddies.
Slowed down to watch a sunset.
And still squeezed in some football.
A solid packed full week. Sidebar: I've been biking 7 miles every morning. So far 3 mornings in a row. Fingers crossed for 4. Nine pounds to goal, if you're keeping up. I'm pretty excited.

As a ridiculous movie buff, Tuesday is my favorite day of the week {mostly} because it's the day I can find my anticipated new release. I went in shopping for my sweet Madison, who is addicted to those talking dog buddy movies...she really wanted Spooky Buddies {I found it} and I picked up "Bridesmaids" - how could I not, marketed as "Best Comedy of the Year" -I think that marketing was overstated...It was a little slow, I did enjoy it, but it was no Hangover. {Just saying.} Best part was It was a nice break from the madness of the remodel. I got to cuddle up with my favorite guy and just hang out. I'd watch it again if it involved an evening where there was no remodel drama or need for painting anything. I say, watch it. It's not bad.

This week, my tiny baby girl, Madison started Dance classes at the brand new Studio 43 in Creola, Alabama. She is learning Ballet & Tap. It was so cute to see her with the other tiny dancers - I've never been surrounded by so much cuteness and beaming parents before. It almost made me fall in LOVE with Mondays again.

I take a lot of photos when I'm out and about with the Ellenburg 5 - this one was perfect for this week's theme. This is a shot of my in house "Super-Fan" Grant after the South Alabama Jags game. The announcer had just said, "The Jags are still UNDEFEATED!" He gets so excited at these games. Its hard NOT to get excited when at the football games when you have Grant next to you.
He looks a lot like this at all games, except sometimes; he wears two foam fingers.
